to them and COA by preparing your guests in advance. Give your guests a general
idea of what to expect so that they can participate in benefit of themselves and
all women present.

Why have a Wise Woman Festival
by Flash Silvermoon

2008 DEDICATION
This Fifth Wise Woman’s Festival honors the memory of my dearest friends Tara Silverfox, Cherie MacArthur and Cathleen Carter whose loss not only tore a hole in my heart but their loss has proven to be irreplaceable for the Melrose/Gainesville Florida community.

We also honor the memory of Brenda Henson who has got to be one of the bravest women that I have ever met. She waged her final battle with cancer. In life, she forged inroads in the South, in Mississippi, where few would have dared, making even the most bigotted respect her and the community, Camp Sister Spirit. Brenda helped create that healing and learning space with her wife Wanda and Daughter Andie. She will be missed.

Blessings,
Flash

Blessings,
Dianic women from the east coast have been asking when and where Z Budapest will be appearing, and we wanted to let you know that she will be in Woodstock, New York in May 2008. Here’s the scoop!

Zsuzsanna Budapest
Goddess Teach-In of the Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries

May 2 -4, 2008
Woodstock, NY

Goddess Teach-In of the Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries

We are Gathering the Goddesses, a journey through shared experience and discussions of philosophy and practice of the Goddess Path. Where did the Women’s Spirituality Movement begin? Rediscover The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries … the book that changed the minds and hearts of American women … applauded widely in historical accounts of the Feminist Movement. But do you actually know what’s in this book? Why is it so effective? How it came to be birthed? And, behind the scenes personal stories that shaped Feminist Spirituality and the world.

Z Budapest talks intimately about her origins, Feminist Spirituality and the women who participated in it. Join Z as she shares the stories and concepts through new eyes and extended experiences. She will bring you to a deeper and more inspired journey to rediscovering the Goddess within.

Z Budapest is the foremother of the Women’s Spirituality Movement, founder of the Feminist Dianic Tradition and a hereditary witch from a long line of Hungarian witches and healers.

Z Budapest will talk about the origins of this work, and the women who participated in it. Together you’ll reread the Manifesto of the Susan B Anthony Coven Number 1 with the woman who channeled it, you’ll read the Shaman Women’s Songs, and journey through the Holy Book with new eyes.

Mysterious woman, you are magic. Come spin spells with me, learn the hidden passages of your power, face your fears, make your dreams real, and reclaim yourself as Goddess and Witch.

The Holy Book was written when the majority of the new fangled spirituality had to come from far, far away, and when the then gurus were always men of color. Women served the herbal teas, the men preached and got rich. Into this milieu came Women’s Spirituality. No gurus, hardly any money was involved, and all women were welcome. And the teachings were an eclectic mix of global choices of white people’s paganism, and all nations paganism. Integrated into one cohesive practical common-sense spirituality which allied Women’s Spirituality with the Universe.

As Florence Nightingale once asked in her diary: Could there be ever a religion whose essence is common sense?” We answered a resounding Yes. That’s what the Holy Book contains even today.

At the end we do the Self-Blessings Ritual, together, in front of a mirror skyclad. (It leaves you with a major impression)

3 days: $500. $100 deposit.

Zsuzsanna Budapest - “grandmother of the goddess movement” - has led rituals, lectured, taught classes, given workshops, written articles tirelessly, and published in hundreds of women’s newspapers across the country for many decades. She has powerfully influenced many of the future teachers and writers about the Goddess.

Z Budapest wrote The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries which was originally published in 1975 as The Feminist Book of Lights and Shadows. This book served as the first hands-on book to lead women into their own spiritual/Goddess heritage.

CAYA Drum & Music Circle (Berkeley)

Come As You Are Coven welcomes all to a…

Drum & Music Circle
Jan 4, 2007
8 PM (please be on time)
2121 Bonar St
Berkeley, CA
$10 donation

CAYA’s newest community circle is not strictly a ritual circle (though power
will, inevitably, be raised with our music!) All are welcome to participate as
CAYA members play some of our favorite ritual songs, work to expand our
repertoire of musical selections, and begin to develop a nonverbal communication
structure that will serve our spontaneous ensemble music in ritual. Bring a
drum, guitar, fiddle, horn, flute, rattle, or any other musical instrument you
are able to haul in and out of the ritual space. Voices are welcome, too!

We’ll take nominations of songs from the group at the beginning of the circle
and collectively choose which ones we will work from that list. We may like
some so well that we play them for longer, or we may even let structured songs
evolve into extended “jams.” Lots of possible ways this can go, folks,
depending on the energy of the group. We’ll cast a circle to help us ground and
open our inner ears to the divine music of the spheres, but we will not be
invoking any particular directions or deities. At the end of the session,
individuals may perform solo pieces they’d like to share with the group, time
permitting.

This will be the first CAYA Drum Circle (and our first circle of the new year!),
so come on out and help make it beautiful.

Chrysalis Woman

Greetings and Bright Blessings Sacred Woman!

Another bountiful year is before us… a year filled with the promise of new growth, new experiences and best of all… new sisters ;-)

For those who follow numerology (and those who don’t), 2008 is a Global “1” year.  A year of change, new beginnings and experiences!  A great year to try something new, expand your horizons and do something that you’ve always wanted to do, but maybe never allowed yourself the opportunity.

Here at Chrysalis Woman we strive to offer a range of opportunities for women to experience new growth, become a part of a Community of Sisters and rekindle their relationship to not only them-selves but the Sacred Feminine

Maybe you’ve had a chance to visit us this last year, maybe you’ve been attending our events regularly or maybe we have yet to meet you… one thing we can promise you… we’re here for you, whenever you’re ready to take that leap of faith and experience something new… to experience a remembering of your sacredness and the importance of your wholeness.

Below is an example of what is offered through Chrysalis Woman… if you’d like more information, simply give me a call (209) 772-0511 ;-)

Monthly Goddess Circles (February-October)

Come and experience another year of monthly gatherings with sisters of all paths who wish to reconnect with the Sacred Feminine within & without.  We’ll continue to meet each month near the full moon to honor a Goddess from a specific culture and experience healing rituals that can include drumming, singing, art, dancing, meditation and self exploration.

NEW IN 2008! Monthly Goddess Studies Program (February-October)

This program was created for women who wish to deepen their experience and understanding of the many faces & aspects of Goddess.  Women in this program receive via email an introduction to the Goddess they’ll be working with for the current lunation, links for additional research on Her correspondences & culture, instruction on how to build an altar to Her and suggested projects for connecting with her energy. Each woman is then given the option of attending our corresponding Goddess Circle which deepens her experience or have the ritual emailed to her to perform on her own.  Journal questions are given that help to round out the experience.  This program follows each lunar cycle & the monthly Goddess Circles and is available monthly or as a nine month program.

Priestess Program (February-October)

Women who have graduated from the Woman’s Sacred Wheel apprenticeship (formally known as the Initiate Program) are invited to deepen their experience of the Sacred Feminine by participating in a nine month long Priestess Program.  Having remembered the core of Woman Craft, they are now ready to experience & practice Goddess ritual.  Meeting twice a month (one evening for weaving together ritual, the other for our monthly Goddess Circle), women experience the art of Circle Casting, Ritual Creation, Invocation/Revocation of Directional Elements & Energy Work.

Sacred Wheel Year Long Apprenticeship Program (February-October)

A year long journey through the labyrinth of Women’s Wisdom.  A remembering at this time of coming Earth Changes of how necessary the Sacred Feminine is to the healing of our woman selves, families, communities and Mother Earth.  Study includes a journey through the cycles of our blessed Earth and living the connections we experience as she changes her seasonal rhythms.  Women awaken to the root that connects them to the Earth, remembering and honoring the cyclical blood mysteries of Fertility, Pregnancy & Birth, Menstruation & Menopause as well as their connection to Grandmother Moon.  They learn to work with herbal allies, experience the seven directions and corresponding elements/animals guides, plant spirits.  They experience the path of Feminism, Sisterhood, Goddess and the Sacred Feminism and much more!

(2008 Class limited to 12 women – 5 spots still available)

CYCLES E-Zine

An online magazine filled with information on the Sacred Cycles of Goddess, Mother Earth, Grandmother Moon and Women’s Life Passages (Fertility, Pregnancy/Birth & Beyond, Moon-Time & Moon-Pause).  Coming out eight times a year following the Earth’s Holy Days, she is filled with earth & herbal wisdom, woman craft and sisterhood.

Attached you’ll find a Welcome packet that outlines our 2008 year, gives more information on what Chrysalis Woman offers, dates of our events, as well as Sisterhood options for those women who enjoy regular participation and would benefit from discounts.

Here’s wishing you all a bountiful New Year ~ may you be blessed, may this year be abundant and most of all… may you continue to remember your sacredness as a woman and the importance of your wisdom during this time on our Mother Earth.

Many Blessings and Much Love

The Apple Branch is opening her doors to new women beginning in January.  The Apple Branch ~

A Dianic Tradition is a spiritual and educational tradition, created by Deanne Quarrie, known in the Craft as Bendis, for the purpose of empowering women through recognition of the Goddess within. We offer both private and public opportunities for women for ritual, classes, workshops, and retreats based on the founding principles of the Dianic tradition. Beginning with honoring and celebrating our own Women’s Mysteries we also are exploring ancient traditions that we believe to have come through the Ban Drui, and are “remembering” ancient teachings. We explore trance induced ecstasy through dance and our inner work with the
Ogham, the associated nature based correspondences, and The Three Cauldrons within our spiritual bodies. We like to think of our work as exploring ancient traditions with new eyes.

We are primarily online but do meet for gatherings.  The Branch is not for seekers but for women who feel they are ready to begin the priestess path.

If this is of interest to you please go review our web site http://applebranch.org and then feel free to write to me with questions.

Blessings
